学校概要

1964年（昭和39）年に「佐久高等学校」として開校した本校は、1995（平成7）年、長野県下最初の中高一貫教育を図るため、「佐久長聖中学校」を併設し、それに伴い「佐久高等学校」から「佐久長聖高等学校」へと改称しました。

「礼節　忍耐　誠実」の心を養い、文武両道における生徒の可能性を最大限に伸ばすために、「知育」「徳育」「体育」および「気育」「美育」の五育を大切にした全人教育に力を入れています。

そして、21世紀の世界をリードできる国際的視野と豊かな人間性、知性を備えた人財（人的財産）の育成に努めるとともに、難関大学への現役合格を可能とする学力の錬成に全力を傾けています。

大学進学状況を見ると、最難関と言われる東京大学の理科Ⅲ類に平成17年度以来4名が合格（現役3名）するなど、県下屈指の大学進学校に成長しています。

また、運動面でも、2度の全国制覇を誇り25年連続で全国大会に出場中の駅伝部、春・夏合わせて10回甲子園に出場している野球部、全国高校総体（インターハイ）での5度の総合優勝を誇る男子スケート部、このほか、陸上部、柔道部、剣道部、水泳部、ゴルフ部、女子サッカー部、男女バスケットボール部も全国大会で活躍しています。

In 1995, Saku High School (established in 1964) annexed Saku Junior High School and was renamed SakuChosei High School. It became the first integrated junior and senior high school in Nagano Prefecture.

To fully extend the possibilities of the students in the academic and physical aspects, we put in great efforts and emphasis on the five cultivations: intellectual training, aesthetic cultivation, personality molding, physical education and etiquette awareness.

We also make our best endeavors to elevate our students’ scholastic level as well as their humaneness in order for them to become the brilliant leaders of the next generation.

Our students have also achieved outstanding results in admissions to the most prestigious universities in Japan. From 2015, a total of 4 students have been admitted to Tokyo University (Natural Science III), which is said to be the most difficult faculty. In 2017, 1 student succeeded in admission to Tokyo University and 2 students to Kyoto University. We have established ourselves as a high-ranked school in terms of its educational accomplishment.

Furthermore, in the field of athletic performance, unparalleled results have been achieved too. Our Ekiden team (marathon relay) has taken part in the National Race for 20 consecutive years and took the championship for the second time last year. Our baseball team has also made it to the Koshien (Japan’s High School Tournament) for 9 times. We are also very proud of our men’s basketball team which won the overall title for 5 times. The others include the basketball team, Judo club, Kendo club, the swimming team, the golf team which are all actively participating in the National competitions.

「佐久長聖」の「佐久」は地元の地名を表し、「長」は長野県を示すとともに、長所を伸ばす、盛んにする、リーダーを育てるなどの多様な意味が込められており、また「聖」には長聖中学所在地の地名「聖原」の一字を用いるとともに、賢く、道理に通じた優れた人財（人的財産）を育成したいという崇高な教育的願いが込められています。

“Saku” is the name of place where our school is. The Chinese character “Cho” symbolizes Nagano Prefecture, and also possesses various meanings like extending one’s strength, prosperity and fostering leadership. “Sei” is derived from the name of the place where the Junior High School is located. It reflects a noble educational wish to raise intelligent, wise and excellent individuals.

グロ一バルな視野と人間愛をもって世界に羽ばたく若人を現しています。若人の情熱と人間愛をシンボルカラーの赤で、グロ一バルな視野と豊かな人間性を円で、また「知・徳・体」の三位一体をめざして持てる無限の可能性を伸ばしていく姿を白で現しています。

The emblem is a sign of young people playing an active role in the world with a global vision and humane affection. The red color expresses the passion and love of young people. The circle symbolizes the global vision and humanity. The white lines show the expansion of the unlimited potential of our youngsters with the three aspects of knowledge, morality and strength.
